Every year, a group of guys and myself go up to Northern Michigan to chase smallmouth bass. We have a shared passion to find and catch the biggest smallmouth possible, and going to Northern Michigan offers us access to some of the most prestigious smallmouth bass lakes in the country!
This year, a Finesse Swimbait was my go-to lure. With different weather systems pushing in, bass were suspended up and feeding on small baitfish. Using a 1/4oz Outkast tackle Golden-Eye Head and a 4” Keitech Easy Shiner helped me match the baitfish and target the suspended bass. I also relied heavily on my Garmin LiveScope to find the fish suspended and watch them come up to eat my bait!
